Anyone who’s been to a party before (!) knows the importance of having some ice breaker games at the start to get everyone introduced and into the party spirit.
Give everyone sticky name badges so their names and readily visible and get everyone to sit in a circle. Starting with one person, they must describe their favorite type of ice-cream, but without giving away the flavor. Each other player has to ask ‘yes’ and ‘no’ questions to discover the flavor.
The party game gets more difficult towards the end as no flavors can be repeated, so the later players have to be more imaginative!

A great way to break the ice at a party is to have a kids’ dance party. This can be done either with or without boys, and sometimes the most fun dance parties are those where the girls rule. Alone!

There are many ways a dance party can be organized, on every kind of budget. There could be a theme (like High School Musical or fairy garden princesses!) that the girls choose beforehand. The theme would give the girls a chance to start enjoying the party before it happens (and makes it much easier to keep them entertained!). Or the party could be themeless, with some fun songs chosen by the girls (and played by a DJ – or mom and dad!).
Let the dancing begin!
