Traditionally, outdoor youth games are for youth groups and are designed to cater for larger groups of children. A game which involves everyone is a fun way of uniting the group.
One game is RED ROVER RED ROVER. To play this, the group will need to be divided into equal (or near equal) groups.
Each group stands in a line and takes turns in shouting “red rover red rover”. The first person in the line of the shouting group then names someone on the other team. As soon as that person’s name is shouted, they have to run towards the shouting group and try and break through their line.
The other side does the same, and each side takes turns, working along the line so everyone gets a chance to shout someone’s name. Whichever side gets all their team through wins.
It’s a great way to learn people’s names and to get everyone ready for some quieter games later!
