When planning a girl’s party, you have the choice of whether you want to play the party games inside or outside.

Deciding whether to include some indoor party games into the party you are planning will depend on several factors, including the chosen theme, the desires of the partygirl and the weather.

Just because the party games are to be played inside doesn’t mean they have to be subdued and boring games. Games such as musical chairs, musical statues and hide and seek can all be played inside. Any game which is ordinarily played outside can have its rules altered to allow it to be played inside.

Take a game such as ‘tag’. Usually, this should be played outside, but if the rules of the game require the children to speak and pursue in slow motion, it can be played inside. Anyone breaching the rules has to sit out.

The best thing about adapting games so they are suitable to become indoor party games, is that the children can be involved in determining how the rules should change – this will make them more likely to stick to the rules and also engages them with the party.
